Aramid Fiber

Aramid Fiber

Aramid Fiber

Aramid fiber is a heterocyclic aromatic polyamide fiber with low density, high strength, high modulus, impact resistance, insulation, flame retardant, wave transmission, fatigue resistance, high and low temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and dimensional stability.

It is one of the organic fibers with the best comprehensive performance, and which is widely used in helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft engines, aerospace high-pressure gas cylinders, rocket casings and outer heat shields, airship skin materials, personal protective equipment, high-performance radomes, rubber products, special ropes, and webbing, etc.

Physical and chemical properties of aramid fiber

Saturated moisture absorption rate (%) ≤3.0 Thermal expansion coefficient (1/K) 1×10-6
Glass transition temperature(℃) 264 Decomposition temperature (℃) 537
Dielectric constant 3.4 Dielectric loss 0.00645
High temperature performance 180°C, 200 hours, no decrease in strength
Low temperature performance -196°C, 200 hours, no decrease in strength
Moisture and heat properties 80℃, relative humidity 85%, 2500 hours, fiber strength retention rate above 93%
Creep properties 50% fracture load, 3600 hours, creep increment 0.093%
UV aging properties Wavelength 290-340nm, irradiation for 360 hours, fiber strength loss 3.5%
